Each Plan is a structured answer to a question every Canadian family eventually faces.

The first meeting is thirty minutes, conducted virtually or in person depending on your preference and location. It is complimentary, no obligation, and structured around understanding your situation rather than presenting products. We will ask you about the questions you are currently thinking about, the family circumstances that affect your planning, and the financial decisions you have already made. We will explain how Aevum works, which of our Plans are most relevant to your situation, and what a more detailed planning conversation would look like.
We do not sell anything in the first meeting. If a product placement is appropriate after the planning conversation has progressed, that placement is handled through a separate, fully disclosed process with carrier illustrations, regulatory documentation, and time to consider. The first meeting is for orientation, not for transaction.
Nothing is required for the first meeting. If you would like to make the conversation more concrete, you can bring a rough sense of your current accounts (RRSP balance, TFSA balance, mortgage outstanding, insurance coverage if any), but this is optional. Many of our most productive first conversations happen with no documents at all, focused on the questions you want answered rather than the numbers behind them.
Canadian regulation requires the following disclosures from any licensed insurance and investment advisor. Aevum provides them in full because we believe a client should have this information before any conversation begins, not after.
Compensation. Like most Canadian advisory practices, Aevum is compensated through commissions paid by the carriers when a product is placed. We do not charge planning fees for the initial consultation or for the conversations that precede a product placement. Where a planning engagement requires specific deliverables outside the normal planning conversation, we will discuss fees in advance and provide them in writing before any work begins.
Complaints. If you are not satisfied with the advice or service you receive from Aevum, you may raise a complaint directly with Abbas Hussain, with the Managing General Agency named above, or with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario at fsrao.ca. We take complaints seriously and respond in writing within ten business days.
A complimentary first meeting. No products discussed. Just the questions worth answering before any plan is built.
